One of the most famous courses in Thailand and a regular on Golf Digest's list of the Top 100 courses in the world, the Old Course at Siam Country Club was originally opened in 1970 before a complete overhaul in 2007 brought it up to modern championship standards. Now the permanent home of the US LPGA Honda Classic and the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, any opportunity to play this course should be grabbed with both hands.
Immaculate, landscaped fairways lined with mature trees, plentiful water hazards and high-lipped bunkers, the lightning fast and severely undulating putting surfaces—every aspect of this wonderful course contributes to what is an intoxicating challenge, all watched over by a large golden Buddha, best seen from the green of the 9th hole.
Long and accurate tee shots are essential if you are to successfully find position A on the narrow fairways - stray to far and you'll find yourself blocked out by large trees and forced into a low punch shot to get back into play. The greens, like the rest of the course, are in immaculate condition, and the intimidating slopes and subtle breaks will have you replying on your caddie's advice in order to avoid the dreaded three putt.
The last four holes, Siam’s answer to Amen Corner, are particularly memorable, and probably the best finishing holes of any Pattaya golf course. Tricky approaches over water are required at the 15th and 17th, while the 16th is an achingly beautiful par-3 with a menacing pair of bunkers short and right of the green.
The last, a par-5 dog-leg left, offers the temptation of cutting the corner to get to the green in two, but the mature trees lining the narrow fairway, and the nine bunkers along the way, tend to make this a fool's errand. Even if you can't finish with par, by getting the chance to complete a round at this wonderful course you should consider yourself very lucky indeed.
The original clubhouse has been retained, but it's been thoroughly modernised and is home to plush locker rooms, an excellent pro shop and a pair of excellent restaurants. As you would expect from a course of this calibre, the practice facilities are world class, and the caddies well-trained and professional.
No Pattaya golf holiday is complete without an unforgettable round at the Old Course at Siam Country Club.

Best conditioned coursed in Pattaya!
Great golf course, caddies were pleasant, great burger at lunch! Greens where quick, fairways where tight, tees where flat, bunkers where good.. just wish carts could drive in the fairway! Thailand is hot.. would have really helped the experience.The golf course was well-maintained and offered excellent service, contributing to an overall enjoyable experience.
However, there could be further enhancements to make it even better. This course presents some challenges, but it is ultimately very rewarding and offers an excellent learning experience.Following a group of Chinese who were extremely slow the front 9. No course Marshal to speed things up
Twice we have played here and both times the course and greens have had significant maintenance recently. This time it was cored greens 2 weeks ago, and scared fairways...Sad, but we still enjoyed the day...just would love to play when the greens are championship level and the fairways aren't scarafiedCourse Info
