Pattaya Golf Packages

Pattaya is an ideal destination for a golf package as there is a wide choice of golf courses to suit all budgets and handicaps.  Another reason why Pattaya golf packages are so popular is that the golf resort is easily accessible and is a two-hour drive from downtown Bangkok and not more than ninety minutes from Suvarnabhumi international airport.  Pattaya also has its own airport called Utapao which is around forty minutes outside the city and it is now possible to fly in directly from various regional destinations such as Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.  If you would like to combine a golf package in Pattaya with another destination such as Hua Hin, then there is a regular ferry service across the Gulf of Siam serving both destinations.

One of the best ways to save money on a Pattaya golf package is to take advantage of one of our multi-round deals which offer considerable savings if you purchase three or more rounds of golf in Pattaya in one go.

Pattaya Golf Courses

There are more than 25 golf courses in Pattaya which are suitable for international golfers and they range in cost from around US$35 – $105.  Golf courses in Pattaya also apply a surcharge for play at weekends and on public holidays and you should expect to pay around 20% extra if you choose to play golf on these days.  Golf rates in Pattaya are also seasonal and the high season, when prices are more expensive, range from November through to the end of March and you can expect much lower prices if you choose to travel to Pattaya on a golf package during the summer season from April through to the end of October.

Best Golf Courses in Pattaya

There are six premium golf courses in Pattaya which are head and shoulders above the rest.  The Siam Country Club group operates four courses including the iconic Siam Country Club Old Course, which is the regular venue for the LPGA Honda Classic.  The Siam Country Club Plantation course is another iconic 27-hole layout which although it doesn’t have the same history as the old course, is every bit as good.  The two more recent additions to their ‘stable’ of golf courses are Siam Country Club Waterside, which is starting to mature nicely and will soon be as good as the other two and more recently Siam Country Club Rolling Hills which is almost brand new, having opened in January 2020.  Laem Chabang International Country Club was the original ‘top dog’ in Pattaya until Siam Country Club came along, but it has managed to maintain its status as one of the top golf courses in Pattaya due to its continued programme of refurbishment and upgrading.  The course was originally designed by Jack Nicklaus and offers three very different 9-hole layouts and is the only golf course in Pattaya which offers night golf.  Chee Chan Golf Resort which opened in early 2019 was designed by Golf Plan and is managed by IMG and is rapidly becoming a ‘must-play’ golf course in Pattaya.

Cheaper Golf Courses in Pattaya

If the premium golf courses in Pattaya are too much for your budget, then don’t worry as there are many other cheaper courses which will not disappoint you.  Phoenix Gold Golf and Country Club has been around for some time, but it too has recently completed a programme of remodeling and upgrading.  It is also a 27-hole layout and it is popular because it is lined by plenty of mature trees and plants and it is now the venue of an annual European Tour event.  Burapha Golf Club is a 36-hole layout which is great value for money and extremely popular with regular visitors to Pattaya.  Pattana Golf Resort is an excellent 36-hole golf course which is part of an integrated resort which also features a hotel and other sporting facilities.  It’s a little further out than some of the other courses in Pattaya but it is well worth the extra journey time.  St. Andrew’s 2000 Golf Club is another very popular course not because people expect to see a replica of the iconic Old course, but because it is a very unusual layout featuring two 800-yard-long Par 6s.

If you are looking for something cheaper still, then Khao Kheow country Club, located mid-way between Bangkok and Pattaya is worth playing and is fantastic value for money.  Eastern Star Country Club which has been around for a while is also inexpensive and great for golfers of all handicaps.  Greenwood Golf Club, which is a bit further from the city, is a very 27-hole layout which was designed by Peter Thomson and is memorable for the mature landscaping and excellent views of the surrounding hills.  Other inexpensive golf courses in Pattaya which are worth a mention include Pattaya Country Club Golf Resort, Treasure Hills, Parichat International Golf Links and Pattavia Century Golf Club.

Where to Stay on a Pattaya Golf Package

It doesn’t matter too much where you stay in Pattaya as the resort operates a very cheap and efficient shuttle bus service or Baht Bus as they are known locally, which can ferry you anywhere you like along the beach and some of the back roads for as little as 10 – 20 baht. Many golfers are attracted to Pattaya because of its exciting nightlife which is centered around Walking Street at the south end of the beach and also between streets Soi 7 and Soi 8.  If you want to be near the nightlife, then stay at the south end of the beach, although it gets noisy and does not quieten down until around 2 am.  The north end of the beach is a lot quieter although there are still plenty of bars, massage parlors and other entertainment areas within easy reach.  This area has also been greatly enhanced by the opening of the large Terminal 21 shopping center which features countless restaurants and shops.  Staying in this area also makes transportation to the golf courses much easier as the south end of the beach can get very clogged with traffic at peak times.

Whatever you like to do on a golf holiday, Pattaya has it all: fantastic golf courses, great hotels to suit all budgets and of course an exciting nightlife.
