Laem Chabang Golf Club used to be the best golf courses in Pattaya but has been overtaken by some of the newer courses in town.  However, thanks to continued investment this Jack Nicklaus designed championship course is still considered one of the best golf courses in Pattaya and certainly one of the most attractive in Thailand.

Laem Chabang consists of 27 holes spread over 700 acres and the three different courses have their own very specific characteristics.  Jack Nicklaus has made the best use of the existing terrain to craft three very different 9-hole courses which accurately reflect their names of Mountain Course, Lake Course, and Valley Course.

The Mountain Course which is 3,446 yards long has many elevation changes as its name suggests.  The opening drive is quite daunting as you need to navigate your way through the corridor of vegetation to reach the fairway beyond. The next hole requires a daunting water carry to a downhill par 3 with a catchment area over the back of the green.  hole, a wonderfully water-fronted downhill par-3, is about as good as short holes get. As with many Nicklaus courses, the elevated greens are all well protected by bunkers and he has made excellent use of the natural undulations and water hazards to provide extra defence for the course.

The Lake Course measures 3,419 yards in length and the stream which wanders through much of the course will provide a constant threat.   The Valley Course is the longest of the three courses and if the flattest of the three at 3,619 yards although the occasional water hazard more than makes up for the lack of elevation and leads to some often very daunting approaches.

These three unique playing conditions offer a different but fair challenge for golfers of all standards. There are some great views on offer as you make you way around the course and the very attractive landscaping provides a colourful backdrop as do the surrounding hills.  Some of the best clubhouse facilities and on-site accommodation completes the picture at the superb Laem Chabang Golf Club.

Beautiful course. Cart path only sucks.

Reviewed by ; on
As a 76 year old man and paying lots for a cart I will never play here again as cart path only truly is unacceptable. Caddie was first rate. My friend’s caddie was awful.

Terrible

Reviewed by ; on
With the booked cart you were not allowed to drive on the fairway at all. Only on the paths. Then when the tee shot landed on the opposite spot of the fairway you had to constantly run very far from the path to the ball, hit and run all the way back. Dreadful. Recommend everyone to do without the cart. I was also lucky enough to be able to play the game with a very old, very overweight and extremely smelly caddy. It was horrible and I quit the game after a few holes.

The day was great but not the caddie

Reviewed by ; on
The course was good. My caddie unfortunately fell way below my expectations , she should not be caddying alone as yet until she is more experienced. Her English was very limited, and her course knowledge was sub par (So to speak), I understand she is new, but on these occasions there needs to be a more experienced caddie because today my experience was not up to the standard I would expect..

Course consistently well maintained and challenging, caddy performance up to mark, administration and restaurant service above market satisfaction. Keep it UP!

The service is good and facilities maintain very well. Fairway is nice but the green seems difficult to beginners. Overall is great and nice.
