Laem Chabang Golf Club used to be the best golf courses in Pattaya but has been overtaken by some of the newer courses in town.  However, thanks to continued investment this Jack Nicklaus designed championship course is still considered one of the best golf courses in Pattaya and certainly one of the most attractive in Thailand.

Laem Chabang consists of 27 holes spread over 700 acres and the three different courses have their own very specific characteristics.  Jack Nicklaus has made the best use of the existing terrain to craft three very different 9-hole courses which accurately reflect their names of Mountain Course, Lake Course, and Valley Course.

The Mountain Course which is 3,446 yards long has many elevation changes as its name suggests.  The opening drive is quite daunting as you need to navigate your way through the corridor of vegetation to reach the fairway beyond. The next hole requires a daunting water carry to a downhill par 3 with a catchment area over the back of the green.  hole, a wonderfully water-fronted downhill par-3, is about as good as short holes get. As with many Nicklaus courses, the elevated greens are all well protected by bunkers and he has made excellent use of the natural undulations and water hazards to provide extra defence for the course.

The Lake Course measures 3,419 yards in length and the stream which wanders through much of the course will provide a constant threat.   The Valley Course is the longest of the three courses and if the flattest of the three at 3,619 yards although the occasional water hazard more than makes up for the lack of elevation and leads to some often very daunting approaches.

These three unique playing conditions offer a different but fair challenge for golfers of all standards. There are some great views on offer as you make you way around the course and the very attractive landscaping provides a colourful backdrop as do the surrounding hills.  Some of the best clubhouse facilities and on-site accommodation completes the picture at the superb Laem Chabang Golf Club.

Slow Play

We were 2 and had to wait EVERY shot for 5 hours. Service huts are mostly closed, so take your drinks at start and halfway. Even when we play through, we have to wait. Caddy was worse; maybe a girl in the Caddy dress … Cart on path and the paths are a Roller coaster up & down and aslant. Course was wet - Heavy Rain… The greens had steep, heavy slopes that were like fine sandpaper. My home course is Jack Nicklaus too, but with flat and easy greens. Maybe with better weather, better caddies, and better course management, it is a try. But singles and twosomes in a 4 of lousy Players is … Par 3 are long, 3 x over water, and Bunker in front of the green .. not for high handicap. I am 10 , my husband is high hcp

Was good to golf once again at Laem Chabang

Matured course and provides a test of one's skill, course management. The greens on C course we're rolling well and at decent speed. However, the greens on A course were bumpy, hollow-thinned, and fairly slow. Caddies knowledgeable.
