Khao Kheow Country Club is about halfway between Bangkok and Pattaya, just off the main highway and is an ideal course for those who wish to play golf in Pattaya soon after arrival or a final game on the way to the airport. Like many golf courses in Pattaya, Khao Kheow Country Club sits in a picturesque valley between two hills. It’s quite a long course with some significant elevation changes between holes which makes for a welcome change from some of the flatter golf courses in the surrounding area.

As can be expected from a Pete Dye design, accurate shot making is essential to master not only the blustery conditions but also to avoid the numerous large water hazards, bunkers, and mounds that fringe the fairways. Greens are pretty small with plenty of bumps and hollows which makes accurate putting a must if you are to score well.

With a choice of three nine-hole layouts to choose from (A, B and C), there is plenty of excitement and many excellent golf holes to be negotiated. Each of the nines has a hole which can really ruin your card.  Lying in wait on the A Course is the par-4 7th and as you survey the hole from the tee box you will see water running all the way along the hole from tee-to-green and the fairway beyond if looks smaller every time you look at it.

The B Course features the hole that everyone talks about and must be on of the most photographed holes in Thailand.  You play form an elevated tee box to an island green framed by the surrounding water and the hills in the background – very satisfying if you can make the putting surface.

If you have time, we suggest you play all 27 holes and then you can truly experience the variety of this golf course.  The clubhouse has seen better days but the upstairs restaurant which overlooks the B Course serves some excellent food and panty of cold beer.

Overall Khao Kheow is another great value gold course which is well maintained and managed and for those who like to walk carts are not compulsory

Khao Kheow Country Club

A nice golfing experience...

Reviewed by ; on
Very polite and friendly welcome and check in at the golfreception. Playing the courses A and B with an also very friendly and good caddy. It is not one of the sophisticated courses like Black Mountain or Banyan in Hua Hin, it's a rural course in a nice envirement. The first holes seemed not to be so exciting for me, it was very dry, not watered, good for long strokes because of the condition. There's a lot of lakes you have to manage, most times not exceeding my not very good golfskills. But some motives for fotos too.... there is a wonderful Par 3 on course B,hole 8 with an island green, also biting monkeys near teeboxes...... The pace of play was very good, players very friendly, we could overtake one 4-players flight, time for talking and joking. Not so usual on some courses. So it was a very relaxed golfday, starting at 2.00 pm, finishing 5.00 pm, not as in Eastern Star Course, stopping at hole Nr.15 because of a very slow flight and the darkness.

Lovely scenic course with good holes

Lovely lay-out in good condition. Smart caddies, adjusting to possible pace of play issues by managing (in co-ordination with the superintendent) another routing. I enjoyed the day thoroughly.

very happy with the whole experience and organisation

greens were a little slower then expected but just had to adjust to it. It had been raining so a little wet and we weren't allowed to drive the carts on the green which we understood why! we could have had a bit more time to get a feel of the greens before teeing off.Perhaps arriving a little earlier.

Water, water everywhere.

Our caddies were very, very young. Average age of 19. Unfortunately they knew little about the conditions of the green. Lost another 5 balls.

Great Course but very dry at present

Love the course but in March it was very hard and dry. Some 6 ball groups made for a slow day but the wonderful caddy #193 saved the day.
